Development of the Historical Analysis of the Seismic Parameters for Retroffiting Measures in Chilean Bridges

Chile is exposed to the occurrence of medium- and large-magnitude earthquakes. As a result, national international design codes have been developed, whose objectives are grant an ideal behavior structures. However, in Chile, many these structures do not comply with construction standards current regulations. Therefore, we propose carry out historical compilation that allows establishing components present seismic vulnerability bridges built from 1920 2010. We explored information gathered Government Chile. analyzed 553 total 6835, considering superstructure infrastructure evolution. The analysis emphasizes elements help improve performance bridge when natural or induced dynamic forces act on it, such as length support, elastomeric bearing, hold-down bars, transverse girders, stoppers, bracing, expansion joints. identified most significant problems lack both interior exterior; development support tables; use deficient joints; inefficient cross girders baring support; addition presence differential settlements infrastructure.
